The course will explain the hazards ad risks associated with using vibrating tools and equipment, we will look at completing a risk assessment and how to reduce risks through a variety of measures.

Modules you will cover in this an introduction to resident involvement online training

  1. Causes, symptoms and effects of HAVS - In this HAVS module will look at what hand arm vibration is, the types of equipment that can put people at risk of hand arm vibration syndrome, how vibration is measured, daily exposure limit values and the legislation protecting employees.
  2. HAVS risk assessment- In this HAVS module you will look at assessing risk of HAVS via a risk assessment. Under the Health and Safety at Work Regulations employers must manage risks in the workplace. We will cover the 5 steps of risk assessment; Identify the hazards, who might be harmed and how, evaluating risks, recording findings, review and update.
