Safeguarding Adults Group B Wales


Group B practitioners are those who spend time with people in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis. They will have a particular responsibility in relation to the people they work with and will need a higher level of knowledge than those in group A because of their direct involvement with people. The people they work with may or may not have safeguarding concerns.


Memorable Principles:

• I am a key part of the safeguarding process

• I know when, how and who to report to

• I will make sure the individual’s voice is heard 


Safeguarding Children Group B Wales


Group B practitioners are those who spend time with people in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis. Safeguarding Designated Lead Group C Wales


The National training, learning and development standards for Group C are covered in this course. It is advised by Social Care Wales that this generic Group C training be renewed every 3 years. In addition they advise you complete 6 hours CPD per year.

• I understand that voice and control of people is key to decision making – child/person-centred practice.

• I understand everyone’s roles and responsibilities in the safeguarding process.

• I show the ability to make clear and proportionate decisions.

Safeguarding for Managers (Wales)


The aim of this training is to give managers who manage staff that have safeguarding responsibilities the knowledge and understanding of what is needed to ensure staff are trained, supported and safeguarding concerns are dealt with in the correct way.


This is NOT a Safeguarding Designated Person (DSP) Course. The Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP) will need additional Group C training. All Managers will need to have completed their Group B Safeguarding Awareness training in order to under safeguarding and manage staff effectively.
