Legionella is a type of pathogen bacteria that can grow and multiply in water. Water containing Legionella can then spread in droplets, which people can breathe in. This can result in Legionnaire's Disease and Pontiac Fever.

This course will help to increase awareness and understanding of Legionnaires Disease by explaining how outbreaks might occur, and highlighting water systems that have a potentially high risk of developing the Legionella bacterium.

The course explains the legal responsibilities of duty holders and helps employees to understand the risks of Legionella and the importance of control measures to prevent or reduce the risk of exposure.
