There is legislation in place to protect workers, Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Control of Noise Regulations 2005 which we cover; including Exposure Action Values (EAV) and the impact of noise reduction.

We explore job roles and factors which expose workers to excessive noise and look at risk reduction strategies to lower noise levels.

This course contains the following modules:

An introduction to noise awareness - In this module we will look at how the ear is affected by noise, the effects of noise, what hearing loss sounds like and job roles which expose workers to high levels of noise.

Noise legislation and responsibilities - In this module we will cover legislation to protect workers, including Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 2974, Control of Noise Regulations 2005. We will explore Exposure Action Values (EAV) and the impact of noise reduction.

Noise risk assessment - In this module we will focus on risk assessment and noise reduction including, elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE. In addition, we will look at employee responsibilities, maintenance and use of hearing protection and health surveillance.

This course takes learners approx 1.5 hours to complete.
