This course is for anyone that needs to carry out a risk assessment as part of their role. The skills learnt will help you to understand different approaches and techniques for risk management and assessment.



Course content

Modules you will cover in this Risk Assessment Online Training:
Module 1 - The law relating to hazardous substances - In this module you will look at health and safety legislation, COSHH, REACH, RIDDOR, and non-compliance.
Module 2 - Identifying hazards - In this module you will look at 5 steps to risk assessment, risk assessment techniques, spotting hazards and who might be harmed and how.
Module 3 - Likelihood and severity of risk. In this module you will look at likelihood of occurrence, severity of risk, risk scores, high risk areas, good housekeeping, prevention, and environmental issues.
Module 4 - Risk reduction and mitigation - In this module you will look at risk control hierarchy, personal protective equipment, low, medium, and high risk, barriers, reviewing, monitoring, and recording.

Do I need to do any extra work?

You will be required to compete a learner file which is available once logged in. This is an enabled PDF so you can type your answer in. You will upload this in your learning area along with your learner registration form. We will then mark your learner file and provide feedback. 

Once this is complete we will put a request in to  AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group for your formal certificate.

How do I get my formal certificate?

This will be posted out to you once we receive it from the awarding body. It is sent recorded delivery.
