Falls from height remain one of the most common causes of workplace injuries and fatalities.


Employers and employees need to ensure that they comply with the relevant regulations and legislation to keep themselves and others safe, by successfully understanding and dealing with working at height risk and control measures.


The course includes the Work at Height Regulations 2005, hazards and risk, risk assessments and control measures and how to use equipment safely.


Anyone who works at height is required to take training and it is the employer’s duty to ensure this training is provided. This course is for anyone working at height.



Course content

Modules you will cover in this Working at Height Online Training online training:
Module 1 - An introduction to working at height - In this module you will look at hazards at work, falls, common injuries, consequences of fall accidents and a working at heights policy.
Module 2 - Legislation and responsibilities -  In this module you will look at different legislation, consultation with employees, RIDDOR and fall statistics.
Module 3 - How to undertake a risk assessment - In this module you will look at risk management, hazards and risks, likelihood and severity of risk, risk control hierarchy and barriers.
Module 4 - Types of equipment and safe usage - In this module you will look at roof work, vehicles, overhead cables, mobile elevated work platforms, mobile tower scaffolds and scaffolding.
Module 5 - Safe use of ladders and maintenance - In this module you will look at types of equipment, types of ladders, ladder stabilising devices, pre-use checklists, planning, securing, carrying and setting up ladders and safe ascending and descending.
Module 6 - PPE and emergency response procedures - In this module you will look at planning, personal protective equipment (PPE), testing, servicing and examination of equipment, environmental factors and emergency procedures.

Once this is complete we will put a request in to AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group for your formal certificate.

How do I get my formal certificate?

This will be posted out to you once we receive it from the awarding body. It is sent recorded delivery.
