Under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations 2002, employers need to either prevent or reduce their workers exposure to substances that are hazardous to their health and ensure that they are well trained.


This course will help staff to better understand substances and products that are mixtures of substances as well as data safety sheets, labelling and packaging advice, good practice principles of COSHH, and risk assessments.



Course content

Modules you will cover in this Control of Substances Hazardous to Health online training:
Module 1 - The law relating to hazardous substances - In this module you will look at health and safety legislation, COSHH, REACH, RIDDOR, and non-compliance.
Module 2 - Hazardous substances. In this module you will look hazardous substances, the nature of substances, exposure, and symptoms.
Module 3 - Labelling and packaging. In this module you will look at hazard pictograms, warning labels, Safety Data Sheets, and employee responsibilities.
Module 4 - COSHH risk assessment - In this module you will look at the 8 principles of good control practice and the COSHH risk assessment.

Do I need to do any extra work?

You will be required to compete a learner file which is available once logged in. This is an enabled PDF so you can type your answer in. You will upload this in your learning area along with your learner registration form. We will then mark your learner file and provide feedback. 

Once this is complete we will put a request in to  AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group for your formal certificate.

How do I get my formal certificate?

This will be posted out to you once we receive it from the awarding body. It is sent recorded delivery.
