Our Level 4 Advanced Safeguarding Training is designed for Named Professionals, Safeguarding Leads, Managers, Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), Clinical Leads and those with strategic safeguarding responsibilities. The course is fully mapped against the Intercollegiate Safeguarding Framework and can be tailored specifically for children’s safeguarding, adults’ safeguarding, or a combined programme.
This interactive course moves beyond frontline practice and explores the leadership, governance and quality assurance responsibilities that are essential for creating effective safeguarding systems.
Participants will develop the knowledge and confidence to:
- Understand the role, responsibilities and leadership expectations of the Named Professional and safeguarding leads.
- Explore the legislation, statutory guidance, national policies and research that underpin safeguarding arrangements and organisational responses to concerns.
- Recognise the barriers that prevent people from disclosing abuse and understand why professionals may fail to hear, recognise or respond appropriately to concerns.
- Identify vulnerabilities and risk factors that place children and adults at increased risk of harm and consider how these are addressed at a strategic level.
- Use risk assessment tools, quality assurance processes and training needs analysis to improve safeguarding practice.
- Understand organisational responsibilities for auditing safeguarding arrangements and measuring effectiveness.
- Develop, review and audit safeguarding policies and procedures, including responsibilities relating to People in Positions of Trust (PiPoT).
- Examine Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPRs) and Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs), embedding learning into policy, training and service improvement.
- Explore current national safeguarding issues, emerging themes and the emotional impact of safeguarding work on practitioners and leaders.
Our training is practical, evidence-based and designed to support organisations in strengthening safeguarding leadership, improving governance and ensuring that learning is translated into safer outcomes for children, young people and adults at risk.

I have worked closely with The National Training Academy over the last few years on 3 separate occasions with multiple providers as part of the Clinical Leadership Team to providing bespoke Level 2 and 3 Safeguarding training and also Level 4 training. The training provided has had to meet the needs of clinicians working in nontraditional clinical environments. TNTA have been an exceptional partner in delivering Safeguarding support to these organisations. Their expertise, responsiveness and professionalism sets them apart from many other providers. Their expertise in navigating complex safeguarding cases, coupled with their ability to communicate clearly and effectively has been invaluable. Through their comprehensive bespoke training packages our clinicians feel more confident in identifying and addressing Safeguarding issues, ensuring safe and effective outcomes. I would highly recommend TNTA to any organisation seeking expert safeguarding support. Their service has been truly outstanding.
